Several Steps Of Injection Mould Repair
2025-01-05
1.Preparation
(1)Evaluate mould status:
- Perform a comprehensive inspection of the mould to assess the degree and type of wear and damage (such as scratches, cracks, corrosion, etc.).
- Determine the necessity and feasibility of repair.
(2)Develop a remediation plan:
- Based on the assessment results, develop a detailed restoration plan, including required materials, tools and restoration methods.
2.Disassemble the mould
(1)Safe Disassembly:
- Before disassembling the mould, make sure the injection moulding machine is in a safe state and disconnect the power supply.
- Record the assembly sequence of the mould to facilitate subsequent reassembly.
(2)Cleaning mould:
- After disassembly, clean the mould thoroughly to remove oil, plastic residues and impurities for subsequent inspection and repair.
3.Repair process
(1)Surface repair:
- Polishing: For minor scratches and scuffs, use a polishing tool for surface preparation.
- Spraying or electroplating: For surfaces with severe wear, spraying or electroplating can be used to repair them.
(2)Welding repair:
- For cracks or missing parts, select appropriate welding materials and processes for welding repair.
- After welding, necessary heat treatment is performed to eliminate internal stress and restore the hardness and toughness of the mould.
(3)Replacement Parts:
- For severely worn or damaged parts (such as guide columns, cooling channels, etc.), consider direct replacement.
- Make sure that the material and size of the replacement part are identical to the original part.
4.Processing and Adjustment
(1)Finishing:
- Finish the repaired mould to ensure the matching accuracy of each component.
- Use CNC machine tools or other processing equipment to carry out necessary processing.
(2)Inspection and adjustment:
- Check the size and shape of the repaired mould to ensure it meets the design requirements.
- Make minor adjustments as needed to ensure proper functioning of the mould.
5.Assembly and testing
(1)Reassemble the mould:
- Reassemble the mould components in the recorded order to ensure that the components fit well.
(2)Functional test:
- Perform functional tests on the injection moulding machine to ensure that the mould can work properly and produce qualified molded parts.
- Check whether the mould’s cooling system, exhaust system, etc. are normal.
6.Recording and Maintenance
(1)Record the repair process:
- Keep detailed records of the mould repair process, materials used and repair results for subsequent maintenance and management.
(2)Regular maintenance:
- After repair, regularly inspect and maintain the mould to detect and solve potential problems in time.
